The Counting House Nursery

March 2015 saw the opening of our biggest (and most challenging venture) in The Counting House at High Street.
This large, wonderfully appointed nursery can cater for up to 86 children, whilst our entirely separate and purpose-built Breakfast/After School & Holiday Club provision can accommodate 48 children.
At one time the building was a well know local youth club. Separated over two floors it now provides the perfect nursery and school club environment for children ranging in ages from 0 – 11 years. Having undergone a huge refurbishment project throughout it has large spacious rooms, filled with activities and separate play areas to meet the demands of our children.
The nursery is a thriving and stimulating environment, but despite its size the nursery retains a warm and welcoming feel throughout.
Our children also benefit from two large outdoor play areas; one entirely for the use of our Toddler age group (2-3 years) and an even larger space for the Over 3’s children. Both of which provide many and varied experiences outdoors for the children to enjoy.
In OFSTED’s eyes:
“Children develop secure emotional attachments to the staff. They teach children how to recognise and manage their feelings well and praise children regularly. This helps to boost their self-esteem and confidence. Children behave well and develop their independence skills, such as pouring drinks and using tools to select and serve food”
“All children become independent in caring for themselves, such as using the toilet without help. Babies enjoy exploring and moving about the environment. They confidently make their own choices from the broad range of accessible resources and develop good physical skills”
